Sexing Barred Rock Chicks

Can anyone help me out sexing the barred rock chicks? The people I bought them from said they were pullets but I’m not real sure. I have two in the pics below of the group. I only have one chick recent close up. The pic of the two is when we first got them.

They are too young to sex. So unless those people bought them sexed from a hatchery, there's no way to guarantee their sex.

A few seem to not have head spots. I wonder if those are barred at all.

Please post pics at 6-8 weeks old, showing combs and wattles.

High quality (breeding not health) Barred Rock have some features that are good indicators of sex. Males have "runny" head spots while females spots are more precise and often smaller. Females may also have darker legs. This may be what your seller was going by. Unfortunately these chicks do not appear to be high on the breed qualities, so I'm not sure how accurate those indicators would be on these chicks. Once their barring comes in (as long as Dad was double barred and mom single barred as true barred rocks would have) The males will have a whiter appearance than hens due to double barring.

Thank you. The solid white feathers on them that are just coming in. Does that tell anything? I have looked all over trying to find some and have had a hard time finding any anywhere near me or that doesn’t have a super long wait list!

The feed store bought them from a hatchery. I believe she said Hoovers. Can I get some better pics(I just saw your post on pics). I just assumed they were about a week old due to the way she was talking but she did say they get them at different ages.
