I have 3 Barred Rocks about 6-1/2 weeks old (hatched Dec 26th, 2008) and I could use a little help determining the sex of them. I have read about feather color, leg color, comb and wattle color, but based on all of that I think I have 3 calves...

Any help you could offer based on the pictures here would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your help.

If they are really less than 7 weeks old, they are all cockerels. The pic below is of two of my hens, but at 12 weeks old--you can see they still dont have combs as large as your chicks. And they are much darker.

Wow, that's a significant size difference.

I have to say I am truly bummed, though. We aren't allowed to have roosters in our city.

Now I guess we just have to figure out what to do with them.

Thanks for your help.

OK, now you have us worried. We also have 3 Buff Orpingtons. Would you mind taking a look at them?

They were hatched around December 15th, 2008.
