Monday all seven of my black swede hatched out. MY question is I have three that are colored like their mum white and light brownand four look like dad black and white bib, Does this mean I have three girls and four boys?

No color is not going to be an indication of sex. You will have to vent sex

After doing some research online I think By the color of ducklings I have three blue swedes and four black swedes. I think maybe that is what mama is. COOL!!!

How exciting!

PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your will have to vent sex to figure the sex. I found out how to vent sex, and its really easy now! Watch the Metzerfarms video on it!! Helps alot!!

Are the parents both pure black swedish?
If not, then you may have sex-linked ducklings.
Last year, I hatched out mixed ducklings from my khaki campbell drake and black swedish hens. All the ducklings looked like swedish, but some were brown and some were black. I was told they were sex-linked, so I kept them long enough to find out their sexes. It was true! All of the brown ducklings were female and all of the black ducklings were male!
I'm not an expert when it comes to genetics, but maybe you have sex-linked ducklings too!

They came from mt. pleasant hatchery. So i dont know. I know when I got them the dark colored was male and the lighter colored females. I wonder how you get a sexlink duck?

To sex link a duck, you need a khaki, or brown drake, and a grey (Like mallard color) or black duck. Say you bred a rouen, or a mallard hen, to a khaki campbell drake, all ducklets (girls) would look like daddy. and all boys would look like mommy.

So if my drake was the brown swede and the hen black swede then they would be sexlinked? My hen I think maybe a lavendera she is smoky colored to me.
