Sorry my male coturnix is almost 2 yrs this nov and his buldge has recently deminished

Just for a few days, you can individually pen every bird. When I had buttons and had whites, I made cardboard dividers to split up my existing cage into four equal sized compartments. Then I could tell who was male and who was female by who laid eggs or who made the low growly noise the males make. I didn't even have to do that for more than one day because once they're divided they start to talking up a storm to try and contact their buddies.
