Sexing chickens using wing method

Is it true you can sex a chicken by looking at their wings?
Single row of feathers is a Roo, double layer of feathers is a Hen?
Just curious, cause I think my mum used this method.
I now have 7/9 little ones and am eager to find out sex

Not all breeds of chicken can be feather sexed. You can only feather sex if the breed/strain has been bred to produce fast feathering females and slower feathering males.

Oh ok, shame, cause I can see the difference in single and double rows of feathers on the tips of their wings
