Sexing Chickens

How old are they? The hackles on the one look a little pointy but I don't see any saddle feathers yet. May be a pullet that matured faster?

If they hatched Jan 1, then they are 17-18 weeks old. If any were male I would expect by now you'd be hearing attempts at crowing and see evidence of saddle feathers. I think they are pullets nearing laying age.

The tail feathers do look pretty rounded. May just be a pullet that matured faster. I'd probably keep my eye on that one until she lays and egg though lol.

I just got 3 eggs today but they were from my Easters. The reds have been doing alot of squatting and getting moody compared to normal. But no attempts to crow or anything.

Mine look just like the two of yours and we are at 6 months and still waiting...hopefully yours won't make you wait that long.
