What worked for me is if you spread the chicks wing, (Must be young, like 5 or less days I think?) girls will have a space with the feathers of the wing at the end... boys will not have this space. It worked for me . I don't know though, the last time I used it was last spring so I believe that's how it went!

this only works if they are breed to for it....none of my chicks can be feather sexed
