I am new to geese and we have two lovely white Chinese Geese. They are now about 14 weeks old and from what I have read they have reached maturity. So if neither has a bump then I most likely have females correct? I will try to attach a picture here if I can. Thank you to anyone who can help.

. It's still too young for the bump to appear. The best way to sex at this age is to watch their behavior

Thanks for the Warm Welcomes! They are pretty aren't they... we modest moms

So how old are they usually when the bumps appear? Guesstimate is fine... I just really thought I had one of each but when the one I thought was male had no bump growing I just assumed he was a she - so a rename of Waldo was going to have to take place. What should I look for in behavior?

I didn't notice the bumps until about 6 months. For Behavior:

Ganders usually stand more upright. Almost as if they are standing proud

Geese are usually more reserved and don't walk as tall. They also tend to stay back from new people while ganders are more likely to investigate.

Also Geese tend to have a deeper voice while Ganders voices are more shrill.

Thanks - Well that is what common sense told me but I kept second guessing myself because of the bill - so I will keep his name for now and wait until they get older. They are so funny - I never knew how big their personalities are! They follow me around all day - chatting away to me and even try to keep everyone away from me like they are protecting me. Thanks again for all your answers! Have a great day!
