sexing cochins

anyone have any pointers on sexing cochins?

At what age? I know some that can sex them by the comb and wattles around a few weeks.

I never say for sure until around a month. Some are hard even then, though!

it is a couple of weeks old, i posted a pic on a different thread and someone told me male so i checked for started spurs and "hes" got little bumps started...only bad thing is i cant have roos where i live

I saw your Cochin... it is still too early to tell. Personally I don't see anything roo-ish about it yet. But I only have 5 Cochins and am no expert. I wouldn't make any plans to get rid of it just yet... it could just as easily turn out to be a pullet

edited to add.... even pullets have those little spur bumps.... and some hens have been known to get a set of spurs to rival even the biggest roos!
