The pearled one I haven't had very long. Only about a week. The pied one, I have had for a few months. I know neither is very long. But we just love them. The only reason we were getting a pair is because the person I got the pied from, is a breeder. He is the one that said that one is a male when I first got it. He said he has a hard time with certain mutations too. I really belive it was an honest mistake with him. But the other (the pearled) I believe she just flat out lied to me to get me to buy it. She told me it was a male for sure. But also told me it was 1 1/2 years old. She also is a breeder, but I think she sells her to people like me that don't know the difference, or she just keeps them and trades with people. The pied one, he wants me to breed to help him out. He sells to pet stores, and on the internet, people come to buy from him. He doesn't breed any grays, he is into the white faces..
Anyway, I appreciate you input. would it help if I post a pic of their backs and under their tales?

I was able to see under the tail of the Pied, and I see the barring, but the bird is sort of "on the cusp" of molting out juvenile feathers and growing in adult feathers. So if the next round of tail feathers remain barred, I'd go for "female" on the Pied.
