I have two 4 week old Mille Fleur D'Uccle chicks, and I'm noticing that one of the two carries his/her tail feathers in a notably more upright position than the other at least some of the time. Is this a likely sign that this chick is a cockerel? Thanks!

Both genders of D'uccle have stiff, fairly upright tails, so I don't think it is much of an indicator., though males may be a bit slower to feather.

From what I have seen they are a pretty fast maturing breed, so at 4 weeks, the males should be starting to get in their combs. If you can't tell yet, you will probably be able to soon.

My goal today is to try to get some good pix of them. Regular sized chicks are hard enough to photograph but these bantams are CRAZY hard to get a good photo of them!! :)

It is so hard to get pics for me too!
I don't know if I have a roo or a pullet either.

Here's mine at 4-5 weeks
