While i know that is true in most cases, i have found my bantam cochins And my ee chicks to always redden early. And the first couple times I assumed roo and was wrong. I have learned to identify better by size of comb and shape of tail feathers

These birds now live with my uncle... I thought I’d update, the only male was the darker barred bird. Who knew?
