Sexing Eggs

I don't understand how you think this is possible. Some hens lay pointier eggs than other hens. My RSL lays an egg that is the exact same shape every day (rounded and almost difficult to tell which side is up!) I have hatched out two boys and 3 girls from identical eggs. Doesn't work

Yup. My broodies recently hatched out 7 various shaped eggs. ALL males. I told them they were fired for the season, even I can get a better gender ratio than that.

If it were possible to sex eggs, then I'm sure the hatcheries would be doing that rather than sexing the chicks after hatch.

The voice of reason! This is truly one of those "Old Wives Tales" you've heard about & it's absolutely a myth.

Nope, it won't even get you to 60 percent pullets. There is some work being done on the genetic end of creating pullet dominate gene coding but they are in the mostly theory stage.
