Getting this emu DNA sexed in a couple of weeks, but read something else saying that you can sex an emu chick from it's head pattern. Don't know if it's an accurate way of sexing chicks but thought I'd give it a go anyway :)

Would anybody be able to have a guess at what sex my chick is from it's head pattern?
Both pictures of the same chick:

Top Female Bottom Male

Looks like a female to me - post after DNA testing so we can know the out come

That's great news, was really hoping it would be a little girl!
I will post what s/he turns out to be in a couple of weeks when I get the results back :)

Here's some more picture's of the chick at 1 and a half weeks old. Do you think the head pattern looks more like a bull's eye now?

With the new pic's - looks like it could be a bulls eye, but I will stay with my first "guess" - Thank god for DNA

After staring at the pic for a while, now I say male - was reading that the bulls eye is not complete in some males, and this one has most of the circle.

It would be great if people who have had the DNA test done show pics of head shots and then the DNA results.
