Is there anyway to sex an adult guinea hen except the bob whilte call? I have a cream colored guinea that I raised from just a bitty baby and have no idea if he is a he or she. I have two others who are females but he doesn't seem to sominate them. He sleeps in the hen house and they roost in the trees. When I first got guinea keets, "Peeps" was the only keet that survived, the other 4 didn't make it. (got them at an auction with the rest of the chickens) I was desperate for another keet to keep him company so I found a breeder, skipped work and got him (or her) three other "friends". One just died,(six months old now) I have no idea why, she/he jjust got sick and I did all I could for him/her but she didn't make it. I just switched my bedding to shavings from hay so I'm thinking there was too much amonia in the pen.
I kept them in my chicken coop with the chickens, they were all young pullets and sort of grew up together. All my birds free range when the weather is nice, it is getting warmer all the time now in upstate New York.
What am I going to do when winter comes, will I be able to get my guineas back into the coop?
