I knew I had one roo in my 6 BCM peepers but maybe I have two.
They're at 4 weeks now and a couple of them have distinctly more comb than the rest.
This surprised me as in all other respects, one of the two looked just like the female chicks in terms of it's development all along.
The first one I figured as roo was larger than all the others, had more comb and it's feather development lagged way behind the others.
The #2 roo candidate looked like all the others. Maybe more comb than all but # 1, but otherwise was sized and feathered like the females.
#2 is the dominant bird in the flock, making the others move over with a kick or peck when it wants to get water or food. It also picks the highest place to sit (on top of the feeder)
#1 is as mild tempered as any of the rest.
#2's comb has now gotten larger and darker pink than #1.

I'm confused.

The whole crew. The two roo candidates are on the far left. You might be able to tell that the others have very little it the way of comb development.
