Hi there!
I have been so spoiled by my cream legbars that I can't tell the sex of these birds!

I have one group of from my mixed flock that are B/B/S Ameraucana and Production Reds that were hatched at the end of June. They are with a group of Cream Legbar boys that are a month younger.

(#1) This blue bird has a Red momma and a Blue Ameraucana Dad.

(#1) A better comb picture. This one's comb is almost blue.

(#2)This Red and Blue bird has an Ameraucana Mom and Red Dad.

(#3) Same Mom and Dad as bird #2

(#4)and(#5) The largest two of the group. Red moms with Blue dads. I'm hoping these are my only males.

(#6) Straight red bird. Pretty sure its a girl.

Here are some group shots.

The next group of are four pure Ameraucana and were hatched in the middle of July.

Here they are with Mom on the left. I know the lightest one is a girl and that the dark blue are males but I'm not sure about the splash.

4 & 5 are boys. The rest all appear to be girls other than the blue Ameraucanas you already said you knew were boys. The splash is a girl.

Just to educate me, what makes you guys sure the splash is a girl? Its so hard for me to tell. It seems like her saddle feathers are a bit long and her comb is pinker than the other.

I don't see her comb well in any of the pictures. The boys are so obvious. If the comb is as big as the boys, I would definitely say boy.. It looks pink, but not raised.

Ameraucanas tend to pink up at this age, but the boys have raised 3 rows of the peas. The girls tend to have one raised row.

Sorry, don't have any pure Ameraucana standard pictures to share, but this EE pullet will do the job. See how her comb is pink but not raised?

Check out this pure Ameraucana male's raised comb. Pretty big difference yes?

They are exactly the same age.

Thank you! These pea combs are still just tricky to me!

Ok, @aoxa , I'm going to threadjack this one a teeny little bit because of this photo. Gorgeous boy--but how do you get those darn bandettes to stay on? I put them on, then find them all over the hen house and the pasture. And they're so expensive... Do you glue yours?

I've not had an issue with the bands at all. Must be lucky?

These are the bands I meant to order, but got the wrong ones.
