We have a shy little silkie, bought as a male. But recently we've been doubting him... We think he may be possibly laying eggs, unless its normal for seramas or japanese bantams to lay two eggs a day. I was wondering on some second opinions on this little...chewbaca haha.

Also if I could ask for a second opinion on my white serama as now Im seeing 'black tailed Japanese bantams'!

@Michael OShay @bantamlover21 Is there anything my little bruce jenner shows thats pullet-y? I know for sure that he is at the bottom of the pack. He's bullied by my three hens except his surrogate mommy. (He's going to be getting a diaper & taking rotations outside..I dont want him dead...but I also dont want him alone). Sometimes I feel like he tries and sits on the eggs, or even lays them since there are so many now, but I also do sometimes hear him try and make a loud, long squawk. Nothing like the average roo though. I was thinking maybe because (s)he is a baby

Looks like a pullet to me. Your "Serama" does look more like a Black Tailed White Japanese bantam to me, however.

I took a better picture in actual light today. The other ones look a little sloppier. Also, I know Sumatra males grow spurs, do Silkie males grow any spurs other then the usual extra toes?

Yes, Silkie roosters will eventually get spurs that come in above the fifth toe.

(s)he is only 4 months old (17 weeks), so I haven't noticed any spurs or bumps growing yet. silkies are hard to sex unless they crow or lay eggs haha. However Ive been noticing an extra egg everyday, but I think (s)he's too young to be laying so maybe one my other minis is laying two at a time
