Sexing partridge pattern chicks

I agree.

Also, sometimes you just KNOW! Like a chick will have a girl or boy face and you can't be scientific about it, it's just an instinct or intuition. Pretty much every time I'm right, even when I don't want to be

Haha I find that when I really want a specific chick to be female, my brain finds ways to find female features and signs somehow, or to invent them, so I keep convincing myself that no no really, there's still hope! Like with my partridge boy from last year. Oh the nonexistent lacing I saw on HIM! :D

Ha! I tend to hope but still see boys!

Interesting observation. The black chick looks least like the breed, because of the crazy amount of black, BUT, she's the only one to already start showing some real lacing - double lacing, at that! The other two chicks have the correct colors, but the pattern still looks more barred/splotchy rather than laced. I remember my Barnevelders looked like that last year, too, for quite a while, until they got the real lacing. This one though, is showing lacing much earlier than they did last year, and much earlier than her sisters. She's rushing to prove that she belongs to the breed after all  She has a really nice bluish-green sheen to her black feathers, too. Will be a beauty for sure!

They don't have official names yet...

Here are some top down views so you can see just how different their patterns are, even though they are the same breed from the same breeder:

Pooh is finally starting to develop some real lacing on her feathers (most of them still look more barred than laced):

Pretty is ahead of the game and has had nice double laces for a few weeks now, even though most of her is still black:

The Baby hasn't figured out how to do the lacing quite yet:
