Cockerel is the term for a young rooster just as pullet is the term for a young hen.

Pullets are hens under a year old. Might’ve come from the French word poulette which means young hen.

Good question, I was given the fertilised eggs and told they were Pekin.

Are you sure they are pekin? I thought brahmas. If they are pekin I think they are pullets.

My eyes are horrible. I'm having trouble seeing the images well enough (maybe get some closer images) but the amount of color I'm seeing at 8 weeks would point to cockerel for both. See if you can get closer/clearer photos maybe?
