sexing salmon faverolles--still confused (update)

Both of the above chicks look like pullets to me.

i don't know because it does have all the traits it's just that it's color is a little too dark and it's feet are the wrong color. my pullet that i posted pics of is from McMurray Hatchery so it's hatchery quality and it has the right feet color.

Also do you know what hatchery they are from?

They are from Privett and I can't get their website catalog to work.

Aren't they the color of Mahogany faverolle pullets, not salmon? The difference is purely color as faverolle is the breed (salmon is just the descriptor...like a white leghorn, brown leghorn, White Jersey Giant, Black Jersey Giant, etc). However, the wings are not distinctly black, therefore, I still think pullets (darker or not).

They are sure are cute!

I waited over 3 months for my Salmon chicks and I orded 12 sexed pullets, they sent me 16. I was thrilled!
I lost two early on that were really tiny and weak, and now it looks like I have one definate Roo with black breast feathers and possibly a second. I am thrilled and plan to keep one for breeding which I didn't plan to do but I love the breed so far and adore the looks of them.
They obviously won't be SQ but that's fine with me, I'm not planning to show them, I just wanted a cold hardy breed that was attractive and a good layer.

True about the color being the descripter but the feet color is still wrong for a faverolle salmon or not. Also sporttees, i don't see any poofy cheeks on your chick either.

Here are a couple more pic's of my Salmon Fav's hatched on 4-16. They will be 3 weeks tomorrow. I purchased my birds from a breeder. I will try to post pics every week as they grow until 6 weeks for you to compare. Hope this helps you out.
Please excuse the sleepy roo!

pinkchick--your pics make the difference very clear! Thanks for posting that.

I have some updated pics of my Salmon Faverolle pullet at 4 weeks now, in case that helps the OP. You can see she's definitely not anywhere close to the breed standard, with mahogany colored feathers and the black spots on her breast, but she doesn't look anything like your roo chick, either.

Your Welcome!
She is going to be a very pretty bird no matter if she is breed standard or not in my opinion. 2 reasons why I went with Faverolles for one they are absolutely

gorgeous birds and their personalities and sweet temperments. I wasn't going to stray from my Welsummers or Marans until I saw them in person one day. I was hooked!
