Sexing Silkie

Hi, I am new to silkies. My kids got given 2 baby silkies for their Christmas presents. I am hoping if someone could tell me if I have a hen or a rooster. They are both 10 weeks old, I am suspecting Gingerbread (grey) is a roo because it is nearly double the size of Snowflake (white). Gingerbread also has wattles where Snowflake has none. I am hoping I’m wrong because where I live I am not allow to have roosters in my yard. I’m guessing Snowflake is a hen?

Gingerbread is a cockerel. And I’m almost 100% sure that Snowflake is a pullet. Beautiful Birds

Thank you so much all for your expert advice. Sadly we’ll have to give Gingerbread away . Hopefully one of my friends can adopt him so at least we can visit him every now and then.

Gingerbread is gorgeous- hope your friends will take him. Will be anxious to see the white silkies in a couple more weeks.

Yup, Gingerbread is definitely a cockerel as expected. He started crowing a couple of weeks ago. Good news is my friend is going to adopt him and once they’re all set up, we’ll tranfer Gingerbread over to his new home.
