Sexing Silkies????

Is it possible????? I want silkies soooo incredibly bad- but I dont want roos-at all. only a few more little girls to add to my brood.

My neighbors wouldnt definately NOT go for roos in the neighborhood.....

Mypetchicken.com sells day old sexed silkies. You will have to wait until next Spring, though. And, they are good but not 100% on sexing, based on my personal experience with my order last year. Got 12 girls and one Lulu the RooRoo.

Wow! I've never heard that someone could sex day old Silkies... that's impressive.

I've always been told that it's usually next to impossible to sex them until they are several months old or start to crow or lay an egg.

I did know for sure that one of mine was a Roo when he was 8 weeks old. The other is 21 weeks old and we're still not positive.... please be girl, please be a girl!!

I have also heard it next to impossible when they are young, but if they can do it, that great! That way you can just order girls.
