Hi guys
So, one of my hen has been broody all summer, with short breaks. I decided to give her some eggs, since we wanted to add new hens to our small flock. She incubated 6 eggs for 21 days successfully.
The chicks are now 16 days old. Everybody is doing fine. The mother is raising them amongs the flock.
Now. I heard that you could sex a froment maran by colour. Is this right ?
At 16 days, there's still no difference in the comb between the 3 marans that I have. I also heard that male were pretty quick to have a development of comb in that race.
I took picture this morning.
What do you think ?
First 3 pictures are Chick 1. Pretty sure it's a female. She's very pale and fawn.
Chicks 2 (3 next pictures) is darker.
Chicks 3 (3 next pictures) is somehow in between the 2 first, in terms of coloring.
The last picture is one with the 3 of them on it.
