I know that my silkie rooster did the mating dance for a buff laced polish we thought for sure was a boy. He/she passed away before we could ever determine the real gender. Someone mentioned that a rooster might mount another rooster for dominance. Not sure if he would try to dance for another rooster though! I am going to ask in another section

she was given to me, so i don't know her lines- but she is a real sweetheart!!

I love this thread! From the information so far I am "guessing" that the buff baby posted below is a boy & the blue is a girl. He is braver and stands errect & she has a much lower stance and more shy. They are just 2 weeks apart in age. Hatched in Sept. What do you guys think? Thanks!

You will notice that the girls can stand erect too. Not for any long period of time. Boys are almost always standing tall.
