Can Bobwhites be sexed? If so can someone explain how to do this?
I know how with mature birds but not with chicks. Mine are about five weeks old.

Thanks

Vent sexing is never recommended unless you are a professional as you can kill the bird. And it is too late for the feather sexing at day old. So you will have to wait till about 12 weeks. Sometimes around 10 weeks, you can see tiny white feathers coming in on the head and chin of males. But you will know for sure at 12 weeks. The males will have a white masks on the face and the girls will have a buff colored face.
