He was laying underneath the egg box when my husband came in last night. Equilibrium is off, can't walk and this will be the 6th chicken we have lost in a month :'(
We have already treated them for pox, sprayed coops and dusted with DE
What is your location in the world? What do you feed your chickens? What symptoms did your others have before they died? How old is this bird, and the ages of the others you have lost recently? Were they vaccinated for anything? What do his poops look like? Pictures are welcome. Can you take him aside, and give him some water with sugar 1 tsp per cup, or electrolyte water? How does his crop feel—empty, full, firm, doughy, or puffy soft? Most states in the US have vets who will perform a necropsy/autopsy if the body is kept cold or refrigerated/not frozen. This list has contact info if you would like to get a necropsy and find the cause of death: https://www.metzerfarms.com/poultry-labs.html
Could it be wry neck? If your other birds died like this, I highly recommend the testing eggcesive suggested.
Please don't use DE anywhere you or your birds could breathe it, it's incredibly harsh on respitory systems. If you have a mite issue, permrethrine based products are best.
