Just about any gold or red male can be used as the sire for a Red Sexlink. LOTS of choices, LOL.

Yes they will, like Cowgirl71 said, anything with Silver in the name is Silver Based and can be used as hens to make sexlinks. Silver Dutch are Silver Duckwing. And whatever pure gold roo you want to breed her to should work. What do you have in mind for the roo ?

Will a buff work?

I've never done this cross, but I once saw pics on BYC of some GLW x SLW sexlinks. If I'm remembering correctly, the females looked like purebred GLWs and the males looked like purebred SLWs. If you try using the BYC search button you may find the pics. Hopefully someone can help you out better!

Oh thanks! I did try the search and found what I needed. I'm hopeing to do this cross in the next few years.

Our SLW roo loves our BLRW hen...what did you find out or search under? We plan on separating our pairs after winter is over and we can start on our new coop, but we want a few chicks this year too

I found that a Golden laced or Blue laced red roo over a silver laced hen will make sex links. Not sure what they look like as chicks. But the adults look sorta pure breed. My blrw are selling so good on craigslist but, the first question I always get asked is can I sex them. So that's why I wanna try it. I'm going to get true heritage GLW's anyway...so I might as well get some SLWs too. I'm wyandotte addicted...sigh...

Yep, The pullets should be more or less buff columbian colored and the roos would be the same but split Silver/Gold instead of pure gold.

Cool, how will tell which chicks are males and females?
