Sorry, nope. All your chicks will have barring if the rooster is the barred rock. Barring is dominate when it comes from the male.

It has to be a red male... RIR or NHR. And for some reason, I want to say that a Rhode Island White will also give you a sex link?

There are a few other sires out there that will work, too. I just can't think of any at the moment.

I had a dark cornish and an ancona cockeral cover a barred rock pullet. The male babies had barring and the girls were black. I think any non-barred rooster and a barred hen will create a sex link, except maybe the colombian color.
