I hope I'm beating this subject to death, but after searching, I couldn't find the answer I was looking for.
Are larger combs and wattles a sure sign of roos?
I have 7 red sex links (12 weeks old) which we bought as RIR's, and 2 red stars (13 weeks old.) Of the 9 birds, 6 have large combs and wattles. One of the red stars is starting to crow which is so cool to hear. My wife says he sounds like a clown horn. The sex links are not crowing yet.
This is our noisy fella at about 9 or 10 weeks.

This is one of the sex links at 8 or 9 weeks.
