SFDucks Pics - The first few weeks with our ducks - Appleyards, Harlequins & Hookbills

I would have liked to have the time to add some windows but was rushing to finish before I went out of town. There are ventilation holes in the front and back as well between all the corrugated gaps in the roof. It's also a raised wire floor. It's not exactly breezy but they aren't going to suffocate in there either. If I have time next weekend I might add some hardware cloth windows to the sides.

Well with gentila just losing one of his Pekins do to faulty automatic door not opening and she suffered heat stroke It worries me, of course your temps may not be up into high 80-90's either. But a bunch of ducks inside a building can put off alot of heat.
Your houses are very nice.

Our remaining girl is molting and the boy was a family dinner long ago, so here are some old ones.

Me too. I didn't like ours at first since the girl was so loud, but now that she has calmed down she is the most chill duck. She really goes after bugs and is always doing something in the yard. The others are more sedentary. I think next year will will probably hatch a bunch of her eggs to see what Applebills are like.
