Hi everyone,

I am looking to build my own coop with run. Will post pictures once it's done.
Just doing research into breeds etc. looking into dual purpose birds for both eggs and meat. I have a rough idea of a coop 10x10 and run would be 27 x 10ft enclosed. Any advice and tips would most welcome and I look forward to getting to know you all on here.

If anyone can point me in the right direction to pickup some ladies would be much appreciated.

How many birds do you plan on having/ Rule of thumb is allow 4-5 sq.feet per bird in the coop- excluding roosts and nesting boxes, and 10 sq. feet per bird in the outdoor run. I understand in UK foxes are the most prevalent predators - they can dig, climb fences, and jump high. They will know you have birds as soon as you get them and do their best to get to them.
