A lot of people are asking about shade and I just wanted to share my idea. My coop and run are built under a shade tree so most of the day it's nice and cool. But between 5pm and 8pm the west side has no shade at all. So I hung inexpensive cloth shower curtains suspended by a rope across the face of the run. It looks nice and it is very effective.
