That is wonderful Cynthia! Shadow is such a pretty girl and she looks like a perfect mother.

Odd thing happened today that could have cost Shadow one of her babies. I've heard about it, but only with Silkies. DH said one of the babies looked like it was continually trying to get under her, but then he realized, she was dragging it around. Somehow, it got entangled in her feathers around its little neck and was being drug all over the pen! He extricated the poor baby, but now, I'm nervous about this happening again. I understand Silkies with their feather type having this issue, but not a normally feathered bird. Whew! So happy we didn't lose it today.

How sweet! Where did you get a blue orp? I just ordered some blue cochin chicks- but the buff orps I have now are my favorite hens. I'd love to find some blue chicks. Your hen is beee-eeww-teee-ful!
