“I’m so sorry,” Cloudfall said quietly. I had one littermate, but he died soon after he was born, and I don’t remember it. I can’t imagine losing him if I knew him better.” She rested her tail on Jadestone’s shoulder for a moment.
Jadestone chewed her lip, drawing Rich red blood. “Enough dwelling in the past I can’t undo it so let’s jusk keep going”. She turned back to the deputy “thankyou” she whispered
Cloudfall dipped her head, then flinched as reeds hit Jadestone's face. She sighed. She wished there was something she could do, but Cloudfall also knew that there was nothing to be done. With so few warriors, it would be mouse-brained to try to scrape a few warriors together for a search party for a warrior that had disappeared when she was a kit! No, they could barely keep up the regular patrols as it was. There would be no traces of Amberstone by now. Though having another warrior would be valuable, they needed it now more than ever. Not to mention the obvious grief it was causing her sister. No cat deserved to suffer like that, either in Jadestone's grief or the pain Amberstone might have suffered at some point. But what had happened to her? She would have, even back then, been too big to be carried off by an animal, and she didn't sound like the kind of cat to run away. Cloudfall needed to ask Jadestone more about her, but not now, she resolved. Not when she's so distressed.
“Relax” Jadestone rolled her eyes “I’m fine”
