"Of course" Meadowsong whispered back. "But I can only keep it a secret for so long. I suppose we must take it one day at a time." She returned Blackpine's lick with one of her own.
 
SilverTuft crashed through the trees, lungs burning. About halfway to her clan, she skidded to a stop. What was she DOING??????? If she told the clan, the punishment for Meadowsong and Blackpine would be huge! Not to mention what would happen to the kits! She argued with herself. Should she uphold the Code, or protect them? Too much to decide!

What shall she choose???
 
SilverTuft yowled with frustration. A huge flock of birds scattered into the air. She unsheathed her claws and gouged a hole into the earth with anger. Now, it didn't matter how quiet she was! Meadowsong and Blackpine surely must have seen that! She might as well just bounded through the forest, yowling and shrieking louder than a whole nest of jackdaws!
