Does anybody know when or what age the chicks need to reach in order for their true leg color to show and remain that color?

Some of mines are starting to show darkened tone, but again, not sure...

It will vary by bird to bird. My guess is that they may have a recessive gene in there.

*Update*

Info that I found out not too long ago that I want to share with everyone.

Jungle Fowls, especially the Red will already show signs of the leg being blue as early as 1 week old. Some sooner but 1 week is good. The blue starts at the corners and goes down to the toes.

As for other breeds, leg color will be be most clear @ 1 month of age. Only will it change slightly after that : )
