Shape of egg help determine whether pullet or roo? WOW!

It does not work,I gave my grandaughters school 12 eggs to incubate,all rounded ends no points wanted to test this to see if it was true,out of the 12 5 hatched 4 roosters and one pullit.

This comes up about every other month. It's pretty unanimous it's not true.
 
Had me going there for a minute - thought my breeder in PA had that inside info and that's why I got 8 roos

I looked at the eggs in my incubator and one of them was extremly pointy. I almost couldn't tell one end from the other. Here is a picture of the chick that just hatched today. I don't know what breed it is but I'm already thinking roo.
