Don't worry, the head is a bud that will soon separate itself from the main body and become a quail in its own right. Just hope it's a hen.

The twins of mischief maybe i should name them fred and george, who gets it , it is not easy to get a normal pic of them so i blasted over 30 and kept 30 , so wanted to enter that contest for may baby but mine didnt hatch till may 3rd at 930 pm and deadline was may 2nd, these two hatched early and late on may 8th little one was the late one.

Bringing back the pocket quail! Maybe these two will be hand tamed and kept, still need names.

Here's Chopin helping mom plant new things (or eat them). We still have NO idea what kind of quail he is, we just know he's a loud little boy who doesn't like the tea kettle, the vacuum and when people leave him out of conversations. So if you have any idea what breed he is, I'll welcome ideas or suggestions on how to identify!
The reason why we have no idea is that Chop was hatched from a supermarket egg. He had a sister that unfortunately didn't make it through the brooder stage, but we would really love to get him some company in the future, so finding out what he is could be important to try and predict how he will manage what kind of company. As a chick he was completely yellow, and now he is completely white, with only his beak dark up and under His sister was also completely yellow except for a single dark dot on her head.

In the US, grocery store quail eggs are generally coturnix, or Japanese, quail. I’m only guessing the same would be true for you.

White (with or without black spot) is a common colour variation. From the stuff in your pictures, he looks about the right size. Does he make a cricket-chirping noise?

I'm not sure what a cricket noise would be, I think he does? Like a trilling kind of sound. Here's some clips of how he chats.
I've read that some of the commercial farms in my country keep Estonian quail (which I haven't heard anything about in the forums), but not specifically this brand, which is the largest supplier. They unfortunately have no information online about their quail.
