Lulu is a very pretty boy, but is as jumpy as a button Quail. XD

He is tame enough to where he is decently easy to catch though, and happily walks around my feet on the floor or chills next to me on the bed. He just hates being handled.

They calm the scratching by about 2 - 2 1/2 weeks I’ve noticed. One thing I do is I move the feeder whenever I happen to go past, the feeder always has a bare ring around it where they scratch, so if I keep moving it, they constantly mix the bedding and it doesn’t get that layer of poop. They are my tiny sanitation workers. I notice once they stop scratching I have to toss in chips over the dirty areas a few times a day to control the smell, even though they aren’t that much bigger. For a week and a half I add chips maybe 2 times the whole time, then they stop mixing for me, and immediately starting that day, every few hours I’m putting chips in high traffic areas.
