Sharing Information

I hope you reconsider staying. We have all learned a great deal from your many years of experience. when i click on a topic i always scroll down to see what your take on the situation is. What ever you decide I wish you the best of luck.

Deerman,

Okay well first let me be real with you...Sometimes you do say things that are a little drastic, BUT that doesn't mean you are not appreciated. Now some more true statements: First of all, when I see people accuse you of taking over the peafowl section or whatever I laugh because that is NOT true. Why do some people say that? I dunno maybe they are jealous because you have an answer for everything or they want to be the one with all the answers instead of you. Really the only way someone could accuse you of taking over the peafowl section was if you were a moderator and you edited everyone's topics to make them say whatever you want or make up rules for the section which you of course do not do. How could you take over a section!? Every member can post in the peafowl section and start a topic about whatever. I accuse you of being awesome Sir!

You always have good points and have helped a lot of people on here. I will even go as far to say that many of the people on here would not know as much as they know now if it were not for you. I personally learned a bunch of stuff after joining BYC and even before I joined I would search topics just for your posts because I knew I could trust the information you wrote and take it to heart. I see you as a big contributor to this section and you are definitely loved I mean you got BYC educator so you have to be well recognized and appreciated. So what if you only have 4 peafowl left. I wouldn't even care if you didn't have any peafowl left you still know a bunch about peafowl.

Well it is all up to you, but you can't let just a few select people get you down and think you are not welcome because the people that love you far outnumber the people that are disrespectful or not appreciative of you.

Anyways have a safe, merry Christmas and decorate the tree with lots of peacock feathers.

Deerman,
We know and understand that you have bigger battles just now than most of us, and it must be hard at times. I also lurk here and selectively read your posts. Almost all my knowledge of peafowl keeping is from this forum, and largely from you. Please keep posting.

Burt, you know we understand that you are undergoing treatment. I have enjoyed some of our recent exchanges and always look forward to your PMs. I often check to see where you are hanging out (this is why I am in the Peafowl section....don't tell the others I don't have any

) I know I would miss you. BYC just wouldn't be the same. Please reconsider this decision.

Deerman, I really commend you for saying that. You have SO MUCH expertise and advice to offer the rest of the peafowl community. I remember when I first got peafowl, I PM'd you with a bunch of questions and you answered them all. I was very thankful. You are a wealth of information on the peafowl. It's always nice to learn from others. I also saw the "negative" comments towards others that led to nothing but arguments, which had me scratching my head. I support you in your battle with cancer, and I hope you remain an active participant in the forum, for as long as you can be.

I know what you mean about reading what you wrote the next day and "regretting" it. I don't do it on here so much as I do Facebook. I don't even give negative opinons anymore as I was edited for saying that I didn't like guinea hens and described what they did to my yard and my chickens

. So now I only add what I think can help others.

Hang in there Mr. Deerman,

Nathan

Oh, and this was a total photo opportunity of my 3 peacocks lined up in a row, displaying, left to right is daughter, mother, and Morrison. I saw it and got my camera just in time. This was the other day. Morrison is the one you helped me out with when I first got him as a baby. He is now a father for the past 2 seasons, his tail is still kind of short because its just coming back in. Thanks Deerman.

Hmm, curiosity strikes.. About what is the average weight of a peacock? Never really spent a lot of time around one or studied them much. Do people ever eat them like other birds, or strictly ornamental?

God bless,
