I have not eaten them but would imagine they are similar to the pheasant - I love them for their beauty, nor do I enjoy wild game .... And the weight is about around 10-12# full grown. Yes, Minx, I dont think they have much white meat to them, like the turkey.
I understand populations have been greatly reduced in India & other SE Asian countries, due to poaching/consumption.

People in the USA appreciate them for their beauty, eligance, & charm!!!! I have had some parrots (Greys-Amazons) for over 20 years and their size, color, and social cohesiveness is unmatched. Parrots are also part of what they have, but with the size of peas, they can't compare.

I love my peas, & to see them around the farm doing their thing give great joy.............

And Deerman, we expect/hope that you wont stay away long - WE NEED YOU & SEND YOU THE BEST!!!!

Interesting. So given that most people don't eat them, what route does one normally take on the occasion of one who turns aggressive towards people? I've heard of a case once before, but not sure how common it is?
