Sharing Nicely

I always used to find my two silkies crammed into the same nest together with an empty nest sitting right there, unused. So, I made our new nest boxes "double wides" at 18" x 18" and the girls seem to love it. They have plenty of room to sit side-by-side so when someone (ahem...the broody silkie) hogs the favorite nest, the other girls can still lay in there.

Yea a conversation ......... the barred rock is asking the silkie "are you really a chicken or what?" ....... lol

lol. of course the tiny silkie is the top hen.
