While out taking pictures of our auraucana girl that just started laying, I snapped some general pictures of the flock. They looked so happy, and that made me happy....so I thought I'd share the joy

Now that's what God meant when He gave us dominion over the animals....they look so happy and healthy!!! Tasty, happy eggs!! (and meat too if you do that)

Lovely flock :)

Thanks everyone

They are a happy group, they love the range of the yard and the surrounding woods (some more than others).

We haven't had need to butcher any of them yet. I'm a veg, so that decision is up to my meat-eating husband.

Mr. Peepers is a speckled sussex. Wonderful rooster with a very sweet personality and curious too. I've found that to be generally true of all my sussex, in fact one of the hens ALWAYS comes running to me the minute I walk out the back door (unless she has youngsters and is occupied tending them).
