I have got some pink spots on some of out Legbar eggs. None of them have been thick as the spots on your eggs. We usually just get 2-3 spots and have been working away from breeding hens that produce the pink spots. If you read the Septer 1948 National Geographic article on Easter Egg Chickens it covers the history and breeding of one if the first flocks of Auracana Chickens in the USA. That line, as well as other Auracana line, produce blue, green. or pink eggs. I think what you are seeing is a bird that is a carrier of this pink egg gene and some of it is coming through. It appears that the pink egg gene found in these Auracana chickens is a coating that goes on the outside of the shell to cover the base shell color.
