I got stuck in the Chicken House this morning, trapped by a down pour without my rain gear. Made for interesting observations ... One of the WTB laid her first egg pale baby blue. One WTG that lays olive green eggs while the other lays (?) pink/brown eggs. Waiting on my last WTB which looks to be next week.
*** Has anyone noticed the pullet/hen tossing shavings over her back after laying *** I've never see any others to do but have see these girls do this. I need to upload a video but forgot to do the YouTube thing ...

Yes, I've seen that many times. I wonder if it is an instinctual remnant from when chickens covered their nest after laying for protection of the eggs.
