Shavings or hay?

I have a broody setting on eggs . We are at day 18. My question is should I leave her on shavings or put some hay in the box? Which is safer/better for the chicks?Thanks

I would leave it as is now & not disturb the eggs. Unless someone else knows of a reason why the chicks shouldn't hatch on shavings. ??
