I have a cabinet shop and run a lot of wood through my planers. I have a lot of birch, ash and cherry shavings. Can I use these shavings and others beside pine shavings?

I think it would be o.k. That is as long as there aren't any finishes or glue in those shavings. Also, i would be careful to avoid cedar shavings. The smell is too strong and can be damaging to the chickens' respiratory systems.

Thank you very much. No finishes on the wood. All of the wood going through the planer is in rough cut.
