Hello Everyone,
My name is Shawn, I have pretty much always had chickens even as a little kid. I currently have about 15 leghorn, 8 Rhode Island reds, and 4 buff orpington, I also have an assortment of ducks, and most recently American Buff Geese. As a kid we had all kinds of chickens, a turken, which is an odd little thing, African, and embden geese, goats, pigs, all sorts of things. The neighbors farm was dedicated to a petting zoo, goats, donkeys, ponies, ostriches, wallabies, hedgehogs.... lots of well rounded experience.
Currently, I live on a small piece of property with my soon to be wife and five daughters, Ill make maple syrup every spring, sell eggs in the summer, make wreaths in the fall. I work at a college in front of a computer all day, I like being outside, fishing, hiking, camping, hunting, and this small farm gives me the best of everything. It allows me to work at my job, cling onto my roots, make a few extra bucks on the side, get a bit of exercise, and is easy enough to manage go on outings, and trips, when I want to.
Unfortunately I had a bit of an issue recently, which I will post on another page, but this is how I came across the forum I hope you can help.
