I just used a regular brown jersey glove to handle walleye because their gill plates are sharp and with cold numb hands I’d often get cut...Always need a pair of needle nose with you and can the gloves not be washed?

I actually did try to remove a fly from a very small snapping turtle. It was in the corner of his mouth but I couldn’t even get close enough without endangering my fingers.Stubby, have you done this before?

Story time (wall of text warning):
In Canada there were a couple spots where we could catch 30 to 40 big northern pike like this one in a day...
those fish were all in the slot limit which is between 26” and 35” or so, and had to be thrown back, but when things were right you could catch them one after another sting the banks
so one day when we really got into them my buddy accidentally dropped our long nosed pliers in the drink and then we had to extract our lures using regular length pliers and sticking our hand into their mouths, so we wrapped a tshirt around our forearm each time and hoped for the best
The thing about pike is they like to roll and twist so they can be pretty hard to handle... so it turned into a two person job for getting the lure out of each fish, and eventually we both got ripped up pretty good, but it was still fun
after that we always took multiple pairs of long nosed pliers
this particular fish came within a different story but is the general size I’m talking about.

You didn't flick it hard enough.I actually did try to remove a fly from a very small snapping turtle. It was in the corner of his mouth but I couldn’t even get close enough without endangering my fingers.
Yeah right! More like a shotgun blast!Pro tip: If you ever catch a snapping turtle one good flick to the nose and he’ll open his mouth to allow you to gently retrieve your lure/fly.
That is a good fish tale!Story time (wall of text warning):
